Thw hotel villa is very nice location, with a chill cozy vibe, the beds were quite comfy even though the pillows were quite flimsy in my opinion. They had pretty decent wifi and had normal air conditioning. There was consistent hot water which I loved as not many places in Mexico have that. Overall just a good hotel villa.
Very clean rooms, super service, bicycles were free and in good condition. The best was the very affordable breakfasts that were plentiful and good quality. We tried the baguettes, hotcakes, heuvos, and chilaquiles and all were very good. The garden was lovely and we had a bonfire both nights. The shower was hot, the beds were ok and the sheets were nice. Highly recommend that if you do venture to this town(not our best choice), then stay here. You will be pleased. The staff are very professional, helpful and nice.
We spent one night in Celestun, which is a quiet fishing village. The first drive through Celestun was a bit odd, because we weren't used to this kind of scenery. There were holes on the road, the buildings are a bit poor, seemed as they are half built, lots of dogs on the streets.... Then you turn a corner and drive to the most beautiful and authentic property, which is Villa Gabriela. Location of the Villa is a 10 minute walk away from beautiful beaches. At that point we already got used to our surroundings and the village became quite nice and nothing to be afraid of, in fact we kinda loved it! We did not feel in any danger what so ever. The rooms offer everything you need, plus you have a bench in front of every room, so you can admire the property at the evening and sip a beer or two. The host is very friendly and helpful. Also they have a restaurant in the place, so you can have breakfast just a few meters from your room. The price of the breakfast is really reasonable, I think we gave for a coffee and main dish about 120 pesos per person. We recommend Celestun for the beautiful beaches, which are not crowded and nice quiet ambiance to relax.
Great spacious rooms, great food, beautiful yard. The location is ok, it's just quite loud at night due to the town's dogs barking all night.
Very calm, nice place, 5 minutes away from the beach and 10 minutes away from the center (though it can be very hot walking in such weather, take that into account). They have their own breakfast place, cheap but lovely and tasty. The host was in touch with us all the time, he answered all the questions we had and was very kind. All the facilities functioned well - internet, air conditioning, hot and cold water. Definitely recommend!
